15. Mugen no Juunin: Immortal
The story is set in Japan of the Edo era. The protagonist, Manji, is a warrior who has a great advantage over his rivals: no wound can kill him. In the past, he killed 100 other samurai, including his sister’s husband. An elderly nun, who is said to be 800 years old, grants her the gift of immortality through worms called kessenchū , which heal any wound and even restore amputated limbs even though the amputation was hours ago. The death of his sister leads him to accept the mission that will end his immortality: he must kill 1000 evil men to redeem himself.
Based on the classic work of Osamu Tezuka (no less than the “father of the manga”), Dororo tells the story of a Japanese lord who sold his unborn child to 12 demons in search of prosperity for his lands in times of war. Even against all expectations, the Hyakkimaru boy is born – without arms or legs, without eyes, ears or skin, but alive.
Then armed with a series of prosthetic limbs and endowed with the ability to see monsters even without eyes, our protagonist goes on a journey through Japan in search of such demons to which he was sold. All this to kill them and recover what was taken from them.
Shinra Kusakabe is a third-generation pyrokinetic young man who earned the nickname “Devil’s Footprints” for his ability to light his feet at will. He joins the Fire Force 8 Squadron, which is made up of other flame users as they work to extinguish any Infernal they find. When a faction creating Hells appears, Shinra begins to uncover the cause of a mysterious fire that killed her family 12 years ago.
12.Carole & Tuesday
The series takes place in a futuristic universe where humanity has colonized Mars, citizens are passive consumers and almost the entire entertainment industry has been created by artificial intelligence. As from the anime, Shinichiro Watanabe must be a writer known to many, but in case the name is unknown to you, I explain. Creator of genre-defining works such as Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Space Dandy , Watanabe is one of the best active directors in the industry, known for his love of music. Carole & Tuesday is one of her most recent works, so with just that premise, it should be more than enough to draw the curiosity of any anime fan.
11. The Rising of the Shield Hero
It is wrong to think that becoming an isekai hero is always easy and Iwatani Naofumi is proof of that. Summoned in a magical medieval world, our protagonist in The Rising of the Shield Hero is chosen as one of the four heroes to wield legendary weapons. The problem? Naofumi became the hero of the shield – which means that he is unable to fight alone, since his shield prevents him from wielding even one weapon.
To make matters worse, there is an apparent prejudice between the people and those chosen to wield this weapon over the generations. Add to that a false accusation of rape orchestrated by the kingdom’s own royalty and we have a hero who becomes an outcast of society. Thus, Naofumi is forced to use shady methods to become stronger and protect a people who hate him.
As you may have noticed, The Rising of the Shield Hero deals with several controversial topics. But that didn’t stop it from becoming one of the most acclaimed anime since its release.
Dr. Stone tells the story of student Taiju and his friend Senku, who is passionate about science. One day, Taiju decides to confess to his great love, Yzuriha, however, when he was about to do so, the entire humanity is turned to stone by a mysterious light.
In the year 5738, Taiju breaks free and finds a message that leads him to discover that Senku also escaped. Together they create nital , a solvent that destroys the stone covering that was responsible for imprisoning everyone. However, by releasing Tsukasa Shishio, “The Strongest Primate of Elementary Education”, they find it difficult to realize their plan, since he only wants to free those with a pure heart.
It is possible that you already know the previous version of the animation of Fruits Basket, released in the early 2000s, which turned out to be so bad that the author decided never to have an anime of her series done again. However, she was convinced and the new production is undoubtedly one of the best anime of 2019.
It follows the story of Tohru Honda, a high school teenager who is adopted by the Soma clan, a family whose members carry the reincarnated spirit of a Chinese zodiac animal. She shows her growth as a woman as she is forced to deal with her new role and manage her high school life in the middle of everything
Given the Shounen-Ai genre (romance or strong friendship between boys), Given follows the story of Ritsuka Uenoyama, a guitarist who was losing his love for music. However, everything changes when meeting Mafuyu Sato and hearing him sing. Both meet by chance, but after Mafuyu insists that Ritsuka teach him how to play the guitar, they both approach. Mafuyu ends up joining the band of Ritsuka and along the plot more about the past of the two is discovered. In the midst of this, new feelings are revealed.
7.Shingeki no Kyojin
The third season of Shingeki no Kyojin is undoubtedly the best that has come out so far. Continuing the story of Eren and his fellow soldiers continue to fight the Titans, but this time, with an even more terrifying threat: Humans. Wit Studio’s animation remains solid and the story continues to grow into the incredible from the hand of Hajime Isayama and his masterful pen.
6.The Promised Neverland
Considered the great anime of the beginning of 2019, The Promised Neverland tells the story of a group of children living their days at the Grace Field orphanage. It is a peaceful place, protected by high walls that separate them from the “dangers of the outside world”, where children have the chance to play, study and grow under the care of their nanny “Mama” until the age of 12, when a foster parent is defined to them.
Seems like a little quiet theme? For in the very first episode the truth is revealed: they are all just high-quality cattle raised to feed demons that inhabit the outside world. Knowing this, Norman, Emma and Ray – the oldest and most intelligent of the children in the orphanage – have only a few months to devise an escape plan for all their siblings before they even come to dinner.
5.Mob psycho 100
Mob is a young student who seems to be common in the extreme, both for his generic appearance and his little expression. But he only seems, since the boy is capable of using absurd psychic powers, which become even greater when his emotions surface. Not that he uses his skills often, since he just wants to grow up as an ordinary person without the help of his powers.
In the new season, Mob continues to vary his time between school, training with the body improvement club and his part-time work exorcising spirits. What he doesn’t know is that one of the greatest psychics in history (along with his equally powerful henchmen) wants to put his power to the test – and take the entire City of Spice with him.
This adaptation of Makoto Yukimura’s historical fictional manga, Vinland Saga tells the story of Thorfinn Karlsefni, a legendary explorer who embarks on an adventure to avenge his father’s death. Based on the year 1002 BC, the series follows Thorfinn’s story from childhood to adulthood, maturing from the posture of an innocent young man to a ruthless warrior. The animation is one of the best that has been seen in the year and the story is interesting and moving.
3.kaguya Sama love is war
The anime Kaguya-Sama: Love is War is a seinen comedy (young adult male) that tells the story of Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya. Miyuki is the president of the student union and is considered a genius for having the highest grades in the country. Kaguya Shinomiya is the beautiful and rich vice president. Because of this, they are considered the perfect couple among students at the prestigious Shuchiin school. However, they are not in a loving relationship.
Throughout the anime , it is shown how love is born between the two protagonists and how they both devise great strategies for the other to declare themselves first, since both consider love a weakness and do not want to go over their pride by confessing it.
2. Kimetsu No Yaiba
The anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba takes place in Japan, around 1912 and tells the events that followed after protagonist Tanjirō Kamado’s family was brutally murdered by demons. The only survivor of the attack was his sister Nezuko, who turns out to be a demon. However, it still shows signs of emotions and humid thoughts, unlike what normally happened in such attacks.
Thus, Tanjirō, along with his sister Nezuko, becomes a demon hunter to prevent what happened to his family from happening to others. At the same time, it also seeks a cure for Nezuko’s condition
1.Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Although released in 2009, this second version of Fullmetal Alchemist continues to be acclaimed by the public, which makes it a strong candidate for the best anime list.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood tells the story of two brothers (Edward and Alphonse) who tried to alter the past to bring a loved one back and failed, which almost cost their own lives. After that event, they will try to do everything to recover what was lost during the attempt.
Edward and Alphonse live in Amestris, a continent that lives under constant wars and where people can do alchemy (which in itself makes the anime very interesting). The brothers seek the philosopher’s stone, capable of increasing the powers of anyone who possesses it, and face high adventures during this search.
