Black Clover Chapter 257 Discussion:
If we could give Oscars for trolling Yami gets it for his burn of Dante about being an easy target right off the bat. Dante does the typical villain spiel of Me being beaten? Inconceivable! and pulls a very creepy face. Then his body starts to regenerate which looks equally creepy. We find out his magic is Body Magic.
Exactly what that means…….I’m not too sure on the specifics but basically dude seems to have Deadpool-level healing abilities. It seems Dante hates using this due to the ugly look of it, so I guess Vanica and him have a lot in common in that regard. Yami retaliates and blasts through his chest again, but once again Dante simply regenerates it back and then gets a hit on Yami through the abdomen.
So in the end Yami realises he can’t win this on his own and asks Asta for assistance. Despite being almost cartoonishly pulverised into the ground earlier he gets back up cos duh this is Black Clover of course those limits will be surpassed.
My favourite part of this is that first pun Yami makes at the beginning. I’m a little confused as to what Dante’s Body Magic entails as it seems rather vague beyond the seen regenerative abilities. When the anime adapts this chapter I bet that single panel flashback will get really stretched out and milked for all it’s worth. A lot of series would have already had the mentor character wiped out with a little too much ease, but I like that Tabata is taking his time with this and having Yami slowly start to loose the advantage instead of just getting one-shotted once the villain amps up their powers or something like that.
Black Clover Chapter 258 Spoilers & Predictions:
So obviously Asta and Yami team-up is going to happen. I do wonder exactly how this will go for them. Yes they’ll lose but as we’ve seen it ain’t gonna be a quick one. I still think Yami may willingly surrender to spare the kids lives, and this may be how this comes about; Dante will be about to kill Asta when Yami gives in.
If this is what happens it’ll be interesting to see the development it causes for Asta and the group, feeling they were too weak to help and need to get stronger so they don’t need saving or something to that effect.
Given the Singularity is still floating about Dante may try to use it to tear apart a Black Bull to force Yami’s hand. Asta is the obvious candidate but seeing as Henry is still somewhere inside the remains of the Hideout and was already feeling pretty weak before shit hit the fan I could see him being high on Dante’s target list. Plus might give Henry an arc this time round like the one I suggested prior. Obviously Asta’s Anti-Magic should just counter whatever Dante throws at them, but I think he (Dante) may find a, likely underhanded, way to win this one yet.
