Kingdom Chapter 646 Discussion (Recap):
In this chapter, we see the lengths that Kakukai and King Sen go through to ensure that they stay in power. Kakukai orders for both Riboku and prince Ka to die. We see assassins and the Zhao army attempting to kill them, while Riboku and Ka are running away to escape. At this point Riboku is forced to use his sword, and is shown side by side with Kaine protect prince Ka. However, Kakukai also understands that in order to defeat Riboku and Ka, you need to take out their supporters.
Therefore the entirety of several families are massacred including women and children. With this Prince Ka knows that he can never return to Zhao, and is deeply upset about fate of Zhao. Ka believes his brother Sen is even more despicable than his father, and knows that Sen’s lack of leadership will lead to Zhao’s doom.
Meanwhile, Riboku and Kaine lead prince Ka to saftey, within the walls of one of Zhao’s far northeastern cities. Fortunately the Shun Shin Ju and Banaji armies are able to assist with their escape, albeit with their limited numbers. Riboku knows that he needs to rejoin Banaji as soon as possible, in order to help Banaji withstand further Zhao attacks. However, Riboku has lost his morale and can’t help but admit being tired. This marks the first time we see Riboku truly defeated.
Kingdom 647 Spoilers & Predictions:
Kingdom 647 can go a variety of ways. I suspect that the Zhao political arc is now over. King Sen has nearly eliminated all opposition and will be able to assume command unopposed. Therefore, we can expect to see more of Ousen’s target on the battlefield as well as possibly Kanki’s and Yotanwa’s movements. I do expect at some point that Kanki will try to capture the city where Riboku currently is. But for now we can expect general updates of the armies of Qin and the first engagements between Zhao and Qin.
