One Piece Chapter 973 delayed, Spoilers, Discussion, Predictions, Read Online

Hello One Piece fans, with the release of Chapter 972 let’s start breaking down what happened this chapter and what could happen in one piece Chapter 973. To provide a quick recap, in the last chapter we last saw Kozuki Oden and his 9 vassals brought out to be executed by boiling in oil. Oden managed to strike a deal with Orochi and Kaidou that if he could withstand the boiling oil for an hour, he and his vassals would go free.

Oden then proceeded to put all 9 of his vassals on giant wooden plank and single-handedly carried them while boiling in the oil.
A few minutes later the onlookers grew bored of waiting and insulted Oden, this caused Shinobu to lose her temper and reveal the truth behind the deal Oden made with Orochi back then. The deal would be that if Oden danced naked in public at the same time every week, a 100 lives of the citizens kidnapped by Orochi for Kaidou would be saved for each dance and that 5 years later Kaidou and Orochi would leave Wano after they were done building their ships.

One-piece Chapter 972 Discussion

While Oden was boiling in the oil he made a rather important speech about opening up Wano again. After traveling with Gol D Rodger, Oden had learned about everything in the world including the “Void Century”, “The meaning of the D name” and about the “Ancient Weapons”. With this knowledge, he comes to the conclusion that Wano needs to open its borders.
He reveals that originally the Kozuki clan closed Wano off from the rest of the world in order to protect it from “a great external power”. He then goes on further to say that Wano and the entire world are currently awaiting a figure and that when that figure appears after an 800 year-span, Wano must be prepared to welcome and work with them and asking them to open up Wano in his stead.

He says this knowing full well that Kaidou and Orochi will kill him today which they did in the latter half of the chapter.

With the death of Kozuki Oden, his arc comes to an end and the story will return to the present in chapter 973.

Who is this figure he refers to?

The figure he’s referring to is likely Joy Boy, the person who wrote on the Poneglyph on Skypiea. Joyboy likely knew a prior holder of the Toki Toki no Mi or knew Toki and they sent him into the future.

One piece Chapter 973 Predictions :

Basically, with every route leading to Port Tokage destroyed, all the rebels are unable to meet at the rendezvous point, pushed by desperation Kinemon and the remaining Nine Red Scabbards will likely try to lead an attack by themselves at Orochi.
We do know the rebels themselves are still fine but since the bridges and ships were destroyed by the bombs, as a result, the only way to reach Port Tokage is by going through the Flower Capital then to Udon so that will be their most likely path.

A general prediction will be Kinemon and the scabbards will likely try and fail to kill Orochi, when they’re captured the others will likely make their appearance and save them as
the Strawhats and the rebels are still on the way they’re just being forced to take a longer path around.
It was also hinted that Jinbei was on the way as well, this could open up the possibility of them invading while riding those whale sharks again like they did when escaping Impel Down.
So I think 973 will likely show Kinemon and the scabbards acting as a group and trying to kill Orochi
