NHK confirmed through a statement that the anime adaptation of the light novel series written by Mamare Touno , Log Horizon will have a third season. The anime will be titled Log Horizon: Entaku Houkai and will be released in October this year.
Touno began publishing the series of light novels with illustrations by Kazuhiro Hara in 2010, and Kadokawa has published a total of eleven volumes to date. However, Touno published volumes 12 and 13 online between 2015 and 2017 ( Kadokawa published the eleventh volume in March 2018).
The first anime season premiered in October 2013 and was produced by Satelight Studios , while the second season premiered in October 2014 and was produced by Studio Deen .

Synopsis
With its eleventh expansion, the MMORPG game “Elder Tale” achieved its worldwide success, having millions of players online almost all the time. However, during the release of the twelfth expansion entitled “Novasphere Pioneers”, thirty thousand Japanese players who were connected at that time were suddenly transported within the game and taking the appearance of their avatars.
In the confusion of this moment, a social misfit named Shiroe, together with Naotsugu and Akatsuki will decide to unite to face the dangers of this virtual world that has now become their own reality.
