What’s up guys? Chainsaw man dropped it’s latest new chapter this week. This chapter sees our characters dealing with the aftermath of what happened in the previous Chapter while also setting up seemingly ominous situations for Chainsaw man 81. Read on to find out what happened this week but please make sure that you’ve caught up with the manga before reading on, because this post will contain spoilers!
Chainsaw Man chapter 80 Discussion:
Chainsaw man chapter 80 deals with Denji coming to terms with Aki’s death. Or maybe not. The chapter begins with Denji and Power eating good food and playing games and renting a new house with the Aki’s savings, half of which he left for Denji. This chapter also indicates to viewers that Aki really is gone. He’s dead. So is, apparently, the part of the Gun Devil that possessed him. Remember that the Gun Devil that attacked Japan was from America. It basically means that that was only 20 per cent of the real gun devil. Our heroes still have to deal with the 80 per cent that’s left.
This chapter, however, mainly deals with how Denji feels about Aki.
Denji is shown unable to even eat without thinking about Aki’s death. It’s made evident that Denji is very guilty about the same as he instinctively vomits when he thinks of what happened. Trying to deal with Aki’s death, Denji is approached by Makima who was shopping.
She invites him to her home and Denji goes along without hesitating even for a second. The fact to be noted here is that Denji and Power are still unaware of the fact that Makima was atleast partially, if not wholly responsible for Aki’s ultimate bad fate. Makima’s home is surprisingly filled with dogs who instantly take a liking to Denji. Makima feeds coffee and Tiramisu to Denji while Denji plays with a dog named Tiramisu. While spending time having fun with dogs, Makima joins Denji and offers to fulfil one of his wishes since he survived and basically defeated a part of the Gun Devil. Denji ,shockingly, answers that his wish is to be Makima’s dog.
CHAINSAWMAN 81 RELEASE DATE AND PREDICTIONS:
Chainsaw man 81 will probably see Denji dealing with what seems to be Makima using her powers on him. It’s unpredictable as to what Denji might do now. His origins are still a mystery so he could very well shake off Makima’s control powers. What’s surprising here is that Denji didn’t have to to be forced into the contract unlike Aki and Angel. Maybe we’ll see Denji understanding that Makima is not exactly the angel he thought her to be in Chainsaw man 81.
The future devil also predicted Power’s death and It’s unclear of she’ll really die or not considering that Aki’s entire deal with Makima was based on protecting Denji and Power.
There are speculations in the fandom that the dogs in the apartment could have been humans who got mutated into dogs by Makima. Whatever be the case, we are probably very close to understanding what Makima’s true intentions are. It’s possible that they’ll get revealed in the Chainsaw man 81 or 82.

Chainsaw man 81 will be released on August 23.

Denji was never under her power to begin with…at any point in time. Its almost like he and a few others are immune to her powers.
