Black Clover Chapter 260 Discussion:
In a way, a lot and little happened. The long and the short of it is, Yami got taken. So Black Clover chapter 260 starts with Dante defeated, Asta and Yami catching their breath and the others celebrating. Gauche wakes up and Grey basically smothers him in a hug, before realising what she did and freaking out. Aw, the ship sailed a little further…….and Vanessa is basically the stand-in for all fans in that moment. As Yami goes to tie up Dante…….disaster strikes. Or rather, Zenon strikes.
Yami. All over. With bones. A lot of bones. And he’s immediately incapacitated. The others realise what is happening and try to react as fast as they can. Zenon tries to kill Asta but Finral instantly teleports the bone away. Just another reminder how far Finral has come that he could react that fast. Gauche up next with a bunch of mirror blasts, but they’re swatted away. Then Henry finally makes a move seemingly ready to kamikaze himself into Zenon, but his little box is shattered by the bones too. Asta tries to get the Devil to lend him some more power but the Anti-Magic Devil says he can’t make any more contracts with Asta. Interesting wording……..Vanessa tries to recreate Rogue but is deflected too, and finally…….Yami is taken. And the kids look on…….helpless.
Oooooooooooh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I was right…….yey? Reading this, you could feel the mood drop in a single page. In a weird way, even though it took nearly 20 chapters for Yami to lose, it felt so……..instant. Yami had to jinx it with that Happy ending comment. In a way it makes more sense Zenon would be the one to take Yami, he did feel like he was barely trying against the Golden Dawn. Now both Asta and Yuno will have a grudge against him. The dread was palpable this chapter, the way he one-shotted every Black Bull. I was worried Henry was gonna end up a human kebab but he seems to be alive still so at least there’s that I guess…………
Black Clover Chapter 261 Spoilers & Predictions:
in terms of Black Clover 261: Asta is about to have a breakdown on par with Deku when Bakugo got taken. It’s weird to realise this is the end of “part 1” of this “Demon Saga” as all that’s left is the clean up. We will see the clean-up, a lot of tears and recovering. Yuno will likely be re-awoken to find out what happened, Noelle, Secre and Mimosa will have to face losing Loropechika. We’ll see how the other kids in the Heart Kingdom survived the explosions, and Gadja I see taking control. What will happen to Undine I’m not sure. I don’t think Mimosa knows about the fate of the Golden Dawn yet…….oh god she’s gonna be doubly wrecked. The Black Bulls will reconvene and try to reconstruct the Base and themselves. We haven’t seen Gordon and Zora since the beginning of the arc……that’ll be an, shall we say, interesting and highly emotional reunion. Let’s just hope Damnatio doesn’t come in ad start spouting off nonsense again.
Given Zenon’s comment about Dante losing after all his pouting, I wonder how the power dynamic will shift between the Dark Triad. Perhaps this could be their downfall, turning on each other in a battle for control of the top spot, and the Black Bulls/protags exploiting this. We may see more of the Spade Kingdom and the Dark Triad’s castle
Asta is totally gonna use Yami’s Katana for sure. Just what the Devil meant by a contract we shall see perhaps. I think we might finally meet the Vice Captain of the Black Bulls, who will try to rally the kids after everything that just happened.
