Ey up guys. Last chapter post of the year then. weird one it’s been ain’t it? This is the closest I’ve had to a schedule all year. Week before Christmas and I still need to get a bunch of presents, typical ey. Anyway, below you will find discussion & spoilers regarding Black Clover 277 Raw and recap of the most recent chapter of Black clover, Heavy spoilers. Enjoy!
Black Clover Chapter 276 Discussion:
So we start off with Zenon being shocked at the fact that Yuno is even alive. Bearing in mind last time they saw each other Zenon skewered Yuno like a kebab. Yuno then declares his intent to take back Vangeance and blasts an attack at Zenon. Zenon defends it immediately and starts to go into Devil Form, one wing made of bone the other of Devil (or Devil Magic?). Langris then joins in with a spree of Archangel’s Crash to which Zenon counters with Absolute Space, a form of Spatial Magic that allows him to take control of all Mana within an area. Through this he can even interfere with the Mana of his opponents spells within said area. Zenon then states if it weren’t for him Langris may be the greatest spatial mage alive. Langris retorts that it’s been a long time since anyone talked down to him and shoots off an Archangels Destruction. Zenon then essentially pulls a big ol’ flex and makes an Absolute Space encompassing the entire room and cancels out Langris’ spell.
Zenon continues to mock them in a stone dead tone. Dude must be British with that level of dead behind the eyes attitude. Langris realises as he within the Absolute Space itself it’ll be even harder to maintain a spell as Zenon can manipulate basically everything they do now. Internally I imagine right now he is having a Tenacious D at the end of Pick of Destiny moment. Aka *****. If you have no idea what that is then oh god does this mean I’m old? Anyway, Zenon moves in with more Bones to surrounding them claiming they’ll die without taking a single step. But then Bell pops out and proclaims (essentially) Alright sadass nobody skewers my Yuno and gets away with it you’re going down
So next we get Yuno’s big new spell. Spirit Dive: Spirit of Boreas. Side-note, Boreas was the Greek God of the North Wind. Yuno now stands with both wings, a full crown and his sword is now an axe. Zenon’s Bones move closer as Yuno states he is The Man who will become the Wizard King. Then just as the Bones reach him……they disintergrate. Zenon’s face is essentially Nani the heck just happened. As he wonders how this is possible, and realises that Yuno is simply Beloved By Mana. Whatever that exactly means. As he closes in on Zenon, Yuno comments how Zenon claimed they wouldn’t take a single step before shattering the bones and then Zenon’s ribs as he blasts a hole into his chest saying You were talking about the wrong guy. Langris then comments You are a lethally poor loser.
Oh man what a way to end the year. Zenon showing shock at that ending was glorious, someone be eating humble pie for Christmas. Better than Christmas Pudding anyway…………(what not all of us like raisins…………). So the Beloved by Mana comment? I think all it meant was that Yuno has such control over his mana that even within the Absolute Space it cannot be manipulated. Also Yuno’s jab at the end (the verbal one, not the physical one) was salty. Getting a bit more on the specifics of how Zenon’s Devil’s Spatial Magic works too was cool, and for once Langris wasn’t the biggest in the room. Truly the most shocking part of the chapter.
Black Clover Chapter 277 Spoilers & Predictions:
So clearly we ain’t going to Noelle and the Elves anytime soon. Guessing we’ll just carry on with this fight, probably figure out just what else Yuno has packed for it. Given Bell has been storing Mana up I reckon she is key to whatever final finishing move they have planned. Whilst Langris is clearly the support role in this match I don’t think he’ll be sidelined too much, he wasn’t the vice captain of the Golden Dawn for nothing.
We may still go to one of the other fights. Vanica versus Charlotte and Rill is my guess, seeing as when the first fights went down we went from Zenon to Vanica to Dante, and we’ve started on the Zenon fight again. It’s hard to guess how that fight will go, I could imagine Charlotte trying to restrain Vanica with her Briars as Rill creates something with his paint to attack her with too.
I don’t think these guys are going to win though. Or if nothing else, not an outright victory. For starters Zenon only went 50% Devil when they first faced. I could see Zenon’s victory being as simple as going up to like 90% Devil. Although one thing that I worry about is………Zenon expected Yuno to be dead last time. If he defeats Yuno again, I don’t think Zenon is taking any chances this time round. Man if Yuno died………sadistic as it sounds I’d kinda love Tabata pulling such a twist on the genre, killing the rival character and not just at the end, but long before the end of the series. Asta already has enough reason to take down the Devils but if this happened, you know Asta would totally try to take on two devils at once. Come to think of it do we now Zenon’s Devil’s name? I forget it if we did. Although I could see Langris sacrificing himself to save Yuno if it came down to it too. If he did die, I get the feeling Bell would disappear again as I suspect the Elemental Spirits can’t really die.
