Black Clover Chapter 259 Discussion:
Black Clover 259 starts with the Anti-Magic Devil explaining how this deal works. The Devil seems to be not just giving a portion of his power to Asta but the full extent this time. It has a time limit though, 50 seconds. So this entire chapter takes place in just under a minute then, not bad really. It’s a chapter of upping the power levels; Yami and Asta get a hit in, Dante regenerates, they get a bigger hit in, he goes Four Arms with Gravity Swords and the lads keep hitting him with every sword in their own arsenal. What’s great is despite the morbid circumstances they seem to be genuinely having a good time big shit-eating grins on their faces.
Finally Yami blasts Dante’s torso with another Death Thrust and as he starts to regenerate, Yami throws his Katana to Asta who delivers the finishing blow that somehow takes Dante out, all evidence of demon magic gone as he lies there knocked out on the ground as the other Black Bulls stand there gobsmacked.
In a good way this chapter threw me a bit. This is going almost too well for the protags…….I wonder what this means for Yami’s Katana, whether he can use it from now on or not. The Anti-Magic could have easily corrupted it and made it unwieldable for Yami but I feel he wouldn’t give it to Asta just for that. I’m not sure if that final attack was a new move or just a big Black Slash. I wonder mostly cos what it was about that final attack that was able to end Dante when the rest couldn’t. But I suspect we’ll find out next week.
Black Clover Chapter 260 Spoilers & Predictions:
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before……….I think next time is when it all starts to go wrong for the Black Bulls and the biggest beatdown yet happens. Yeah yeah I know I keep saying this but I never expected the fight to take this long. Although a plus side of this is at least it’s not the generic new villain turns up stomps everyone immediately just to shock all characters in-universe and the readers like we haven’t read this a hundred times before. Instead we’re seeing our guys put up a genuine fight so when the defeat comes it won’t feel as cheap as it does with other series.
How Dante recovers I’m not sure yet beyond the Devil just giving him more power but that feels almost too easy. How he goes about this beatdown is another question. I think he will immediately immobilize Yami, then as the kids stand there in shock he’ll proceed to one shot the rest of them. I only wonder if he’ll kill any of them. Just hop he doesn’t but it seems exactly the kind of sick twisted “joke” he’d pull to toy with them. Still kind of hoping Henry gets to do something but I’m not expecting it at this point.
