Hello there One Piece fans, we’ve returned this week once again to discuss One Piece 984 Spoilers and Raw as well as the latest chapter, I’d like to say it’s nice to be back on a regular schedule but it seems this will be short lived. Anyways, as usual, if you aren’t up to date with the manga series and would like to avoid spoilers feel free to stop reading now, a link will be provided for readers at the end of the page to read the manga. This discussion will cover spoilers, predictions and a source to read the latest chapter.
One Piece Chapter 983 Discussion:
The chapter begins at the sea atop the climbing koi waterfall, where we’ve watched the big mom pirates fall off twice now, with Charlotte Perospero riding his candy across the ocean surface monologuing about how the Big Mom Pirates will reign supreme and he doesn’t take the alliance with Kaidou seriously at all.
We then transition to the Pleasure Hall on the mountain path where Ussop and Chopper seem to have lost Big Mom and the tank is now walking in a bipedal fashion for some odd reason. Meanwhile Big mom is chasing after Nami’s group whilst raising an army of “homies” at the same time.
Next we switch to multiple perspectives in a row, first of orochi about to declare the execution of Momonosuke to the public, meanwhile Zoro has bumped into a group of Gifters and lastly Kidd beating up more of Kaidou’s crew as we hear someone in the background who’s chasing Yamato.
Finally we switch to Luffy’s perspective where he’s engaged in combat against Ulti and Page One, after their initial clash both of them immediately recognize Luffy as a serious threat and activate their devil fruits in response revealing their fruits to be both ancient dragon fruits, Spinosaurus and Pachcephalosaurus. After a few quick blows being exchanged suddenly Yamato appears interrupting their fight and knocking Ulti out in a single blow. After confirming Luffy’s identity he grabs him and absconds post-haste stating he’s been waiting for Luffy’s arrival for a very long time and revealing his identity to Luffy.
One Piece chapter 984 Spoilers & Predictions :
as for One piece 984: The dialogue by Perospero provides rather unique information in that even if Big Mom wants to have an alliance with Kaidou, it seems her crew themselves may be against the idea which may be interesting as it could potentially result in a mutiny or them causing the alliance to breakdown before it even is declared.
Big Mom chasing after Nami’s group whilst raising an army of “homies” is now also creating an emerging threat as she is essentially rallying an army while chasing them, creating another threat which the rebellion may have to face.
Lastly the fight between Luffy and the Tobi Roppo lasted pretty much as briefly as we expected it to, what is surprising however is the fact that Yamato not only knows who Luffy is but has been waiting for him the entire time. A key point to note, the fact we know that Yamato is with Luffy now implies that the mysterious figure stalking Robin and Jinbei is someone else creating another potential threat for the Straw Hats.
Who is Yamato?
An interesting question to consider, the obvious fact aside he is Kaidou’s son, his identity is rather mysterious. Considering that Wano is a nation that is disconnected from the outside world and that the Beast pirates have situated their base on Wano for quite a while, it’s rather curious how Yamato would know about Luffy and why he’s been waiting for him. A hypothesis that people have presented is that Yamato may have been one of Ace’s friends in the past hence why he was looking forward to his encounter with Luffy, it would also explain his disdain for taking over the Beast Pirates and perhaps seek a more free lifestyle.
Another theory is that Yamato is someone Luffy has already previously met hence the mask to allow him to keep his identity hidden as the son of Kaidou. This theory however is rather broad and baseless so it’s fine to not read too much into it. Lastly a thing to remember is that whilst he is “Kaidou’s son”, they might not be related by blood and he could have been adopted by Kaidou.

One Piece Chapter 984 will be released on July 5th, you can read the chapter at Mangaplus. However, the raw scans for the manga will be leaked online 2-3 days prior to the internet around June 5th and fans will start discussing the spoilers of One Piece 984 over on Reddit and other social media platforms.
