Hi, welcome to my analysis of Dr stone chapter 151, where I will talk about what happened in the latest chapter and make some predictions. If you haven’t caught up with the latest chapters then please do as this post contains spoilers
Dr. Stone Chapter 150 Discussion (Recap):
The chapter begins at dawn, after the night raid has occurred, with senku assessing the damage and concluding that the American science team is quite a bit more advanced then Senku. The introduction of automatic weapons changes the dynamic of the story a lot, because for the first time Senku is behind in the science department, the yanks have bigger guns (of course they do) and aren’t looking to share their resources with anyone.
The crew are floating down the river, they’ve been moving all night long putting a lot of distance between themselves and the area they were initially attacked from, and with Kohaku on the lookout, they should be safe. Unfortunately that’s not the case, as Kohaku is a stone age native, she’s only familiar with stone age attacks, from land and from sea, but the one thing she would never have seen before, attack from the sky.
That’s exactly what happens, the sound of an engine roaring through the sky as a biplane hurtles in pursuit of the boats, this plane making up the distance incredibly quickly, and unfortunately they still are quite unfriendly, as they let loose with the machine gun again from the skies, leaving senkus crew sitting ducks in the water.
The usual shounen plot armour arrives though, so nobody actually gets any significant damage which kinda makes the whole thing pointless, but this arcs serves more of a plot device rather than anything else. Seems like Boichi doesn’t want to spend a lot of time building up to planes and rockets step by step, which can be skipped over conveniently if the americans have developed far beyond this stage.
Back to the story, Senkus crew is in the middle of getting attacked, and the plane comes back for round two, clearly they are determined to leave no survivors so Senku heads back to his lab to do what he does best, science.
By getting together some calcium carbide, Senku creates Acetylene gas, he asks Kirisame to launch it into the air. This stalls the planes engine forcing into crash land in the nearby forest which saves the crew from immediate danger, whilst the pilot ejects and is seen to be talking to someone on a two way radio. The who is most likely the main scientist of the American team, who for now will be shrouded in mystery.
Senku and Ryusei make a beeline for the wrecked plane, they are of course going to recover it, reverse engineer it which will accelerate their own scientific development as well as getting some some firepower to fight back.
Dr. Stone Chapter 151 Predictions:
in terms of Dr. Stone chapter 151, Now that Senku has the plane, you can be sure he will be exploring every inch of it to try and discover the workings of the plane, and also make a rough estimate of how advanced the American team is. What we know is they have automatics weapons, they are able to fly and they have a two-way radio communication system. The pilot also has cigarettes and matches, and some sort of exoskeleton suit.
This gives us a good indication that the American team is probably a good 50 years ahead of Senkus team, so for the plot to get senku to the moon, he will need a way to accelerate that in Dr Dtone 151 which is where the American team who have most likely already industrialized will come in. The mystery of the corn production is also solved, the American team is 100% growing the corn for fuel, and they have already got the system set up to make fuel, as seen by the plane.
All of this leads to Senku and the American team forming an alliance, sharing information between groups forming a world wide network of scientists who will work together to reawaken humanity.
