Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon slayer chapter 203 Recap (spoilers) :

Demonjiro is gone for good. Yes. Best boy Tanjiro has returned back to being a human. Kimetsu no Yaiba 203 uses the ‘nakama power’ trope but it’s beautifully depicted and illustrated. Goutoge’s magic shines through in this Chapter as Muzan literally begs Tanjiro to accept his demon side and stay a demon by trying to lure him with all the benefits of being a demon(I am surprised that Muzan even tried considering that he killed Tanjiro’s entire family), even bringing up the mark and goading him while all his fallen family, friends and comrades support him in his endeavor to reject Muzan and his will. With the help from everyone including his dead Hashira comrades like his mentor Rengoku, Tanjiro successfully reaches Nezuko and is pulled back into the real world.

These panels also confirm the death of Obanai and Mitsuri. Even as I am disappointed with the waste of an interesting premise that was developed in the last couple of chapters and it’s use for very unrealistically healing a character that ‘died’ two times already, it was rather relieving to see that a character that has suffered for so long finally gets his happy ending. Tanjiro, free of Muzan’s influence, is welcomed back by his happy group of friends including a very injured Inosuke, an armless and tired Giyu and a delirious Zenitsu calling Nezuko his wife.

Kanao is also shown to be alive as she shares a meaningful glance with Tanjiro. It doesn’t look like she’s been blinded due to the use of her technique. The most emotional moment in this chapter comes from Yushiro as he’s observing Tanjiro coming back to his senses. Yushiro cries in relief and happiness, clutching onto Tamayo’s hairpin as he realizes that the centuries long battle they’ve been fighting is finally over and that Muzan is truly gone for good! This also makes Yushiro and Chachamaru the last known surviving demons.

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon slayer chapter 204 Predictions:

Chapter 204 of KnY could very well be the climax of the ever successful series. I am guessing that we’ll get the aftermath of the ordeal, the characters dealing with the death of their friends and comrades and probably giving them funerals. I am expecting the next chapter to be much more emotional than this one as it would mean that the series would be a bid a farewell soon.

It would be great if we got an explanation of one of the biggest mysteries of KnY, the Blue Spider Lily before the manga ends. As for any future continuation of the series, I am not expecting it to continue, at least not with this set of characters. While it’s rather strange  how devoid of logic the drug working on Tanjiro so soon was, it was nice to see that the author is finishing off the story when they want to rather than lengthening it unnecessarily and milking it’s popularity. It would be sad to see this series go if it’s really going!
