Ey up guys. It’s ironic that I’ve finally managed to get back to going to the gym regularly……….and now we’re going back into a second lockdown (I’m in the UK). Typical isn’t it. Anyway below you will find discussion & spoilers regarding Black Clover 271 Raw and recap of the most recent chapter of Black clover, Heavy spoilers. Enjoy!
Black Clover Chapter 270 Discussion:
The chapter begins with Liebe having a collar locked around his throat and chains tying it to the floor. Nacht congratulates Asta on his victory and orders him to complete the ritual by making the Devil his servant, totally subordinate to his every command as only this way can he become the ultimate warrior he wants to be in order to save Yami. But unexpectedly (to Nacht at least, not to the rest of us) Asta decides not to, that he wants their agreement to be one of friendship, one of equal partnership. As he says, it’s been working so far with Liebe so why not? Also because he wants to be friends. Naaaaaaw that’s so Shonen. Christ that sounded cheesier than it did in my head……….
Anyway so Nacht thinks this is nonsense cos he’s a grown up so he’s bitter about life like we all are because it’s unheard of. In fairness he’s been in the Spade Kingdom for ages I’m sure he’s seen plenty of Devil Contracts forming I’m sure so it’s not like he’s without reason. Asta replies that he knows Liebe was holding back this whole time despite his murder threats and that they seem to wish to take down the same guys anyway so why not. Liebe stares at him in confusion and concludes he really is Licita’s kid, not just the facial resemblance is uncanny but the personalities too.
They shake hands and the ritual seems complete as some symbol appears on both their wrists, and Asta gets his arm back much to his delight. Then most shocking of all, Nacht A) admits Asta chose right B) Is……..smiling? Showing more emotion than he has all series so far. But then Gimodelo hops into Nacht’s shadow and reappears as his larger self. He then fuses (kind of?) with Nacht showing a new form with a hat similar to that of a Musketeer and then tells them the training really begins now and they must try to defeat him.
This was fun to read as ever. Shocking I know but hey I write this every week you think I’m gonna be doing that if I didn’t like it? Nakama can be very groan inducing dependent on the series as it is such a trope of Shonen that has been used many times but I liked how this was done. It felt genuine because these two have been kind of sharing a body for so long of course Asta would feel able to sense how he actually feels, and it’s how Asta is; he’s not immediately going to friend him just because, he chooses to because he trusts him. Nacht’s face when Asta goes for the nakama route is hilarious. It’s that same rather blank expression where he seems to have rather snapped inside and might be ready to flip. Asta’s face when he ask Liebe what his name is also hilarious, like Oh yeah we’ve been together forever and I beat the living shit out of you but I don’t actually know your name where are my manners.
Black Clover Chapter 271 Spoilers & Predictions:
I think we’ll carry on with this, with those two truly working together and finding out how this Ritual and their powers work now. Also we will get a taste of how Nacht and his Devils powers work, so this will be interesting. We may see what his Devils powers are, seeing as he has several I suspect each has their own ability too. Perhaps like how Kakuzu in Naruto had different hearts with different abilities/Jutsu.
I probably already mentioned this in another review (I’ve done 30-odd at this point I can’t remember which anymore) that given how his arm seems to dissipate he may be able to change it’s form. Say perhaps he can form a tendril, a drill, a sword, an axe, some kind of projectile weapon ala Bow and Arrow or Crossbow. Hell maybe a mini-gun style arm that shoots Anti-Magic Arrows………ok that’s unlikely but I like the idea dammit.

I hope we see the personalities of the other of Nacht’s Devils, they could easily be one-dimensional but one thing Black Clover does great is take characters who can be like that and throw them in with a group of others and make that “gimmick” work by having them bounce off the other characters in their own way. It’s part of what I like about the series in general.
